I'm really glad to announce that my paper "What You See Is What You Transform: Foveated Spatial Transformers as a bio-inspired attention mechanism" was accepted for presentation and publication at the 2022 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN) taking place during IEEE WCCI 2022, world's biggest and most influential computational intelligence congress!
This work describes a new foveated spatial transformer architecture capable of learning the biological vision separation of "What" and "Where" pathways in a totally unsupervised manner, without any spatial labelling whatsoever.
This paper was the fruit of my Master's 1 internship last year at the Institut de Neurosciences de la Timone (INT), supervised by Emmanuel Daucé and Laurent Perrinet, to both of which I'll be eternally grateful.
I will be joining the congress https://wcci2022.org/ in Padua (Italy) from 18-23 July to present the paper in person.
